Read what chocolate can do

An ingredient of chocolate could be an anti-cough medicine more effective than traditional remedies.
This suggests comes from England in a study, which also shows how the cocoa-derived compound has no side effects associated with drugs currently used to treat persistent cough. This type of cough, which often continues for weeks after a viral infection, - says Peter Barnes from Imperial College in London - can be difficult to treat, especially because it is not possible to administer large doses of narcotic drugs to patients because of their side effects.
" They have given to ten healthy volunteers some tablets containing theobromine, a constituent of cocoa, the typical cough suppressor.
The volunteers was asked to inhale a gas containing capsaicin, a derivative of chilli red, which induces coughing and is used as an indicator to test the effectiveness of medicines. To produce a cough in those which had been administered theobromine was a necessary amount of capsaicin upper third compared with those who received codeine.
The results of research, while promising, are not yet sufficient to advise patients to quit drugs and to apply only to chocolate as a remedy against cough.
This is the magazine that talk about that : "Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology Journal"
